Chapter of The Epiphany, New Zealand, NZ 281
A photograph of the Chapter of The Epiphany NZ281, taken in 1940.
The Chapter centred on the Church of St Barnabas, Roseneath, Wellington. I’m not sure if this Chapter is still in existence.
What a splendid Chapter banner they had, where is it now I wonder?

The photo below is of the assembled multitude around the west door of St Michaels in the late 1940s, with Archdeacon Frederick Taylor at the centre.
This church, built in timber in 1872, was planned to be earthquake proof by a canny congregation who had already experienced several moderate seismic shocks in the 1860s. It survived the big quake of 10 years ago, while the city’s stone cathedral was partially destroyed.
